runs, served by a fast modern lift system.
There is also a ski shuttle bus from Les
Allues
to Meribel running approximately every 40 minutes.
The bus is free with your lift pass.
You can ski back to village,, snow
conditions permitting - 4 mins. walk

climb, gondola directly to pistes).

Les Allues is
increasingly popular with skiers and boarders as it has all the character
of a lively, traditional, alpine village combined with easy access to the
Trois Vallees pistes.
Travel The nearest airport is Chambery, just 60 minutes away,
which is now served by several low-cost airlines. Other nearby airports :Geneva
- 2hrs
15 mins; Lyon - 1 hr 50 mins.
Driving time
from Calais approx. 9 hrs. Full directions to the apartment are
available. Les Allues to Meribel - 5 kms (approx. 3

you from Les Allues to Chaudanne in Meribel (altitude 1450m) in approx. 12 minutes..

Meribel
The Olympe gondola from Les Allues arrives at Chaudanne, Meribel
- a central pisted area with ski school meeting place, ski kindergarten
and ski lifts.

The Olympe gondola from Les Allues arrives at Chaudanne,
Meribel, just beside the Olympic Centre. A ski
path (see photo above) then leads you to a choice of other lifts at Chaudanne, serving the
Meribel valley and linking you with the rest of the Trois Vallees.
The ski school
meeting place and the
ski nursery are also at Chaudanne, with a
non-skiing nursery close by. For beginners the nursery slopes are easily
reached using the Rhodos gondola from Chaudanne.
As an alternative to setting off from Chaudanne,
if you have a car you can drive to Meribel-Village (approx. 5 minutes) and
take the Golf chairlift..
Meribel has an excellent

in the Trois Vallees includes the Bozel valley (the resorts
of Courchevel, La Tania, Le Praz), the Meribel Valley and the Belleville
valley (St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val Thorens), all
easily reached from Meribel using the fast efficient lift system. Skiing
at Val Thorens includes a glacier. |

Meribel
is situated in
the middle valley of the Trois Valleys, so it is ideally placed for
exploring the whole ski area.
Ski Lifts Meribel is the only single
resort to offer 16 high capacity gondola lifts. And also: 18
chair-lifts (including one 8-seater and five 6-seater), 14
drag-lifts, 8 telebabies and 1 moving walkway.

The
excellent Trois Vallees lift system links all resorts smoothly , making
it easy to reach other resorts in neighbouring valleys, such as
Courchevel, La Tania, St Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens - there
are routes for each ability level.
With 600 kms of pistes in total, quiet places to ski can be found even
at peak times.

Three Valley ski area to improve your skiing experience. This system
automatically reads your ski pass at each lift. |

Returning
to Les Allues after skiing . . . The
Villages Ski Run There is a very pretty run back to Les Allues via the
Villages piste, starting above Chaudanne, just below
the arrival point of the Roc de Fer chairlift . This run takes you right back to the
centre of Les Allues. The run is pisted nearly all
the way back into Les Allues and marked 'blue' on the piste map. It is normally open from late December until late March, snow
conditions permitting. The
lift company Meribel
Alpina offers this description of the Villages run
: ''In
poor weather conditions there is nothing to be gained from stubbornly
remaining in the clouds on the summits: Méribel Alpina offers several
attractive alternatives to allow you to enjoy the ski area in any
weather conditions. The very easy Villages ski run will take you past
the pretty villages of Chandon, Vanthier, Le Cruet and Les Allues,
villages which will charm you with their typical mountain style. This is
a delightful run that won’t overtax you. Why not bring a picnic? The
setting is ideal''.
