The apartment is one of just nine in a small, recently built chalet in the lovely alpine village of Les Allues., 5 kms from Meribel.

Chalet Apartment Les Marmottes is very conveniently situated . . . the Olympe gondola lift to Meribel is just a ten minute walk from the chalet and there is a village ski run for returning at the end of the day.

You will find everything you need, entrance hall with wc, well equipped kitchen and cosy living room, bathroom with washbasin, bath with shower and 2nd separate wc.

Relaxing The apartment has an open - plan living / dining room with an L-shaped kitchen at one end. In the sitting area, comfortable sofas and armchair, tv, dvd player and dvd's, Xbox with two controllers and games, music system with cd player and radio. As well as electric heating throughout there is an electric woodburner-style stove which makes the living room a very cosy place on a cold snowy evening.
Dining The dining table seats six comfortably and the views from the balcony doors are of the mountains with the Bellecote glacier in the distance. For delicious meals prepared to order and delivered to the apartment see Mangetoo who have an extensive menu and offer excellent value for money - highly recommended for a night off from self-catering or a special celebration meal. You can also book a chef to cook for you in the apartment by contacting Extreme Cuisine (who also offer a meal delivery service, including Indian dishes or from Boutik Services Meribel.
*Kitchen* The open-plan kitchen is equipped with high quality appliances: oven with grill, 4 ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine / tumble dryer, fridge with freezer compartment, You will find everything you need for convenient self-catering.
*Upstairs* Pine open-tread stairs (care needed with young children) lead to two pretty chalet-style bedrooms each sleeping two people and a cosy sleeping area for one.. The bathroom is next to bedroom 1, with a separate wc, and a 2nd wc is on the lower floor. For summer views from the bedrooms and sleeping area see the 'Photo Gallery'.

A spacious room with a double bed; two pretty chalet - style windows; mountain and village views.

Next to this room is the bathroom fully tiled, vanity washbasin and shower over bath, separate wc.

Bedroom 2 can have either twin full size single beds, or beds can be fixed together to make a large double bed ('super king') as preferred.

Smaller than bedroom 1 but this room has the best mountain views.

Sleeping Area

The cosy sleeping area ('coin montagne') situated in a separate area between the two bedrooms has a full size single bed, under-bed storage, 4 drawer chest and velux window with mountain views.

It can be completely curtained-off, making it virtually a third bedroom.

Allergies, pets, smoking We have tried to make the apartment as comfortable as we can for everyone - with allergy sufferers in mind, duvets and pillows are hypo-allergenic and we do not permit pets. Those who smoke are requested only to do so on the balcony.

Access Stairs The apartment is reached by a flight of curved stairs leading up from the chalet entrance hallway. Inside, the apartment has open-tread pine stairs (see photo opposite) leading up to the bedrooms and bathrooms, so it is unsuitable for those who have mobility difficulties.

There is a crèche and nanny service, ''Kids Etc'' in Les Allues just one minute's walk from the Chalet Apartment Les Marmottes, with qualified NNEB nannies. Kids Etc has a Snow Club where they can accommodate 15 children from 18 months to 10 years. They offer a special program of activities, games, walks, art & craft etc. Kids Etc also offer a private nanny service and babysitting for the evenings. Hire of highchairs, cots, pushchairs is also available.

Ski Schools - there are several excellent ski schools to choose from in Meribel, see the Skiing and Snowboarding page for links to their websites, and www.meribel.net In summer Meribel offers several children's clubs with a range of outdoor activities - see the 'Summer' page for details.

There is plenty of room for a cot in the double bedroom - cots and high chairs available from Boutik Services Meribel and can be delivered to the apartment ready for your arrival. Payment in Euros to Boutik Services at the apartment. Cots and highchairs are also available from Kids Etc - see link above. We do not supply cot bedding.

Bathrobes are provided for adults only as they are large size., so you may wish to bring your child's own bathrobe from home.

Safety: Care is needed with young children on the balcony, open-tread stairs (we do not supply a stairgate) and open-plan living room / kitchen. Please read our booking conditions for more advice on safety. The chalet garden, as is often the case in France, is unfenced. It slopes down to the road so care is needed with children.
